With the new year, comes opportunity for Scotland County. Development and progress in the Laurinburg/Scotland community will be addressed at this year’s Annual State of the Community. This year the event will take place February 23 at Bright Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with Guest Speakers from North Carolina Economic Development Board Member, Gene McLaurin; City Manager, Charles Nichols; County Manager, Kevin Patterson, and Scotland County Economic Development Coordinator, Mark Ward.
The program will be conducted by presenters and questions may follow. Every year Representatives from the State, City and County offer information on the existing financial standing, industrial and commercial growth, tourism development, renovations, future and present initiatives, and highlights from the previous year. The Laurinburg Scotland County Area Chamber of Commerce will host the event.
