Chamber Names New President

        After a six-month search to fill the role of president previously held by Jim Frank Henderson, the board of directors appointed Theresa Lamson, CEO of the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce in Laconia, New Hampshire to fill the role. Lamson is scheduled to begin August 4. The Ewart Group of Spartanburg, SC served as consultant to the search process.

        Lamson oversaw tremendous growth as the President of the 650 member Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce over the past six years, including development and implementation of a multi-year strategic financial plan eliminating $65,000 of debt. She also oversaw the administration and accountability of an operational budget in excess of $330,000.

Lamson will take the reigns as the new president for the chamber.

Scotland County is centrally located on US 74, less than 30 miles from I95. We are also within a 2 hour drive of Raleigh, Charlotte, Wilmington, the Research Triangle Park area, Columbia, SC, Myrtle Beach, and 5 metropolitan

 airports. Our community is steadily growing with our new area schools, new and expanding industries, and the US Interstate 74 corridor expansion.
