Committees
Your Chamber depends on volunteer support to operate our events and programs. Committees are made up of fellow chamber members who volunteer their time and efforts to make this organization stronger. If you are interested in participating on a committee, please either contact the Committee Chair directly or any Chamber staff member.
Ambassadors
Chairperson: Vic Celadon, Scotland Healthcare Systems
The Ambassadors Committee is your Chamber's goodwill group. Ambassadors are the many faces of the Chamber by staffing events, welcoming new members and often visiting members throughout the year. The Ambassadors typically meet at 8:00 a.m. the fourth Tuesday of the month at The Daily Grind.

Community Image
Chairperson: Pete Morris, City of Laurinburg
Litter is everyone's problem. The Community Image Committee works to eliminate litter, educate the public about its adverse effects and promote the value of county-wide beautification projects. The Community Image Committee typically meets at noon the first Wednesday of the monthat the Chamber.

Education
Chairperson: Andy Cagle, Scotland County Schools
The Education Committee works with the Scotland County School System to promote learning and career-readiness programs. The Education Committee typically meets at 8:30 a.m. the first Tuesday of the month at the Chamber.

Finance
Chairperson: Mike Vinson, First Bank
The Finance Committee is responsible for the review, development and overall implementation of the Chamber's Financial Plan. Committee members are made up of the president, treasurer, vice chairperson and three other Chamber members not serving on the board of directors. Committee members meet every other month and serve one-year terms.
Government Affairs
Chairperson: Guy McCook, Hasty Realty
This committee is made up of chamber members who are interested in gaining an understanding of the legislative processes (local, state and federal) which have an impact on our local community. In addition the committee will review legislative issues and work to develop positions for the Chamber in regards to our advocacy for the business community.
Human Resources Management and Plant Managers
Chairperson: Judie Beck, Butler Manufacturing, a Bluescope Steel Company
This committee is made up of local HR representatives from member companies who discuss HR related topics such as hiring practices, benefit programs, and policies and procedures. Many of the meetings bring in an outside presenter to discuss the latest issues/trends to educate council members. The committee typically meets at noon the second Wednesday of the month at the Chamber.
Membership
Chairperson: Dee Hammond, City of Laurinburg
The Membership Committee assists in the development of new member benefit programs and making recommendations in regards to the chamber's Member Sales and Retention Program. The committee's primary duty is to promote Chamber member benefits and encourage member participation. They meet on a monthly basis.
In addition to these committees, your Chamber has special event-related groups who meet 90-120 days prior to an event, and are responsible for all planning activities:
