Scotland Yard

In October of 1997, over 100 volunteers including doctors, assembly-line
workers, lawyers, plant managers, homemakers, and college students, worked together to build a community playground called "Scotland Yard."
The playground was designed by area school children and was paid for by the generosity of Scotland County residents who, saving their spare change, donated over $100,000 to the project.

"Scotland Yard . . . stands as a testament to the spirit of cooperation
that threads through every facet of life in Scotland County. . . ."
(Suzanne Wood, North Carolina Magazine, Sept. 1998).
